Padua and St Francis of Assisi

Another early today. The porters collected our bags to be boated back to the main land.

Our first stop of the day was Padua. We wisited St Anthony’s tomb which is in a little church, Basilica of Saint Anthony of Padua. The cloister area of the church has pretty purple flowers. We even saw a few monks around the church.

We were taken for coffee at Pedrocchi where they make their cappuccino with whipped cream, cocoa and mint. It is their House Special. Just delicious.

Our guide took us to visit St Clare’s church and tomb. St Clare was a nun who looked up to St Francis of Assisi. We visited St Francis of Assisi’s church and tomb. They believe that he was the second Jesus Christ as he experienced stigmata but I’m doubltful of the truth of it.

Dinner was provided for us at the hotel and our tour director took us to a café/bar with a stunning view of the country side. We mingled and had drinks there.
